Training the next generation of property leaders: Our story so far

At the start of the year, we launched the first ever Kingsley Hamilton Estates Talent Academy, set to run four times a year. We wanted to give bright young sparks an opportunity to kick-start their careers in the lucrative world of property. And where better to start than in Canary Wharf, one of London’s top property hotspots!

Led by our experienced Training and Development Manager, Sarah Mackie, the process starts with two Assessment Days, and ends with successful applicants being invited to join us for the two-week Talent Academy – the start of what we hope will be a high-flying career with us!

20 budding property enthusiasts were invited to Assessment Day One, where they participated in activities designed to showcase their skills, including leaving the perfect answer phone message, and everyone’s favourite task – ‘sell a random item.’

Two days later, we invited 50% of attendees to the next stage – Assessment Day Two – the interview. With so much talent, drive, and personality on display, it was a hard task to select our trainees, but eventually six applicants were hired. They spent the next two weeks developing core skills in the Talent Academy, where they covered everything from the legal essentials to effectively closing a deal.

Day 1: The trainees meet Jason Pyne, Sales Manager, and Elaine Chan, Lettings Manager.

Towards the end of the two weeks, the trainees spent time with the sales and lettings teams, and visited a number of high profile properties in the local area, including Dollar Bay and Royal Wharf.

Day 9: The trainees spend time with their new teams, and head out to Dollar Bay and Royal Wharf.

Fast-Track Graduate Management Programme

Elaine and Sarah ready to meet the graduates at the Spring Graduate Fair!

University graduates also have the opportunity to join our Fast-Track Graduate Management Programme, where they can look forward to excellent career opportunities and on-going support and training. In fact, the programme will give graduates the opportunity to rise to Senior Negotiator within 12 months, and a Manager within 18-24 months.

The programme is already proving popular – in March we exhibited at the Spring Graduate Fair at Senate House in London, where the team had a busy day chatting to all the graduates that stopped by our stand. Within the next coming days, applications came flooding in and over 100 graduates had registered their interest in the programme.

Want to join our team? We’re currently taking applications for all four dates throughout the year – send your applications in for the Talent Academy or Fast-Track Graduate Management Programme today!
